Single-cell genome assembly and daily transcriptional profiles of the two co-occurring giant bacteria, Epulopiscium sp.
More...Single-cell genome assembly and daily transcriptional profiles of the two co-occurring giant bacteria, Epulopiscium sp. clade A1 and Epulopiscium sp. clade A2, from Acanthurus lineatus in the Great Barrier Reef (GBR). SSU rRNA clones sequences from clade A1 and clade A2 were sampled from three acanthurid species in the GBR (Acanthurus lineatus, A. nigrofuscus, and A. triostegus) to determine phylogenetic diversity and host-species specificity. This work provides more insight into the ecology and evolution of the dominant gut bacteria in coral reef fishes.
