Description

Pandoraea sp. ISTKB is an alkalotolerant strain having kraft lignin and various dyes degrading and decolorizing potential. This strain can be applied in treating lignin-containing pollutants, aromatic compounds and other xenobiotics. The presence of extracellular lignin degrading enzymes and intracellular laccase and analysis of degradation products evidently indicate its potential application in enzymatic pretreatment of lignocellulosic biomass and lignin valorization.
