Design: Root nodules were collected from Calliandra parvifolia specimens and symbiotic bacterial isolation was performed as previously described (Platero et al., 2016). Genomic DNA was isolated from 5mL of stationary phase cultures in liquid TY media media, using the ZR fungal/bacterial DNA MiniPrep kit (Zymo Research). Whole-genome paired-end library was constructed using the TruSeq PCR-Free kit (Illumina), and samples were run on a Hiseq2500 sequencer (Illumina) at Macrogen inc.
