A single colony of Lactobacillus plantarum NMM.1 from MRS agar plate was inoculated in a falcon tube containing MRS broth and grown 24 h at 37°C under dynamic incubation.

Total RNA was extracted using RNAiso Plus Kits (Takara, China) according to the manufacturer’s recommendation. To eliminate genomic DNA contamination, the DNase I (TaKara, China) was used. RNA libraries were prepared for sequencing using standard Illumina protocols
